This is another lovely quote from the Bible that was widely sung during the 70s. I haven’t been able to find any composer’s attribution, so it joins my Singing the Scriptures collection.
Sometimes, I let the music tell me what ensemble I should arrange it for, other times, I think of a group of musicians I have worked with in the past, and create an arrangement for them. He is Lord is written for pretty much the music team that I used to worship with as a student – I've just filled out the bass a little more and added a French Horn.
Back then, everything was pencilled in on score paper then checked on a piano after class. When finished, I painstakingly transposed and inked it all out into separate parts for the musicians. With several weeks to develop each score, I didn’t get to complete too many, but it was a wonderful experience for me.
